Two weekends ago I attened one of my favorite charity events of the year: the annual Cystic Fibrosis Wine Opener! The past two years I’ve been involved in helping with the planning as well which has been a great experience. Anyway, every year they have a silent auction and the past two years I’ve volunteered to make something I saw online (honestly can’t remember where); a lotto ticket tree! This is an easy and fun auction item that anyone can do. Here are the step by steps:
- Some kind of small tree or branches with a stand
- Lotto tickets (get a variety of sizes and colors)
- Siccisors, hot glue gun
Step 1: Cut lengths of string (as seen above) and punch holes in the tickets. Make sure not to disrupt any of the numbers or codes or anything on them.
Step 2: (This is a hard one) Put string thru hole, tie, and place on tree.
This year I thought it’d be cute to put penny’s on it as well. I just used hot glue and the ribbon and stung them on up as well. Here’s how it turned out:
All and all this was an amazing success and I think everyone had a blast; I know we did! Thanks to all who support this amazing organization and we hope to see you all there next year too.
